Sound sample: String duo
Concert Halls: A comparison
Klaus-Peter Werani (violin) and Hanno Simons (cello) play Beethoven’s Duet with Two Obligato Eyeglasses (WoO 32).
This example reveals the contrasting colours of different concert halls with special clarity. Even the sense of balance between the instruments is slightly shifted. Depending on the spatial acoustics, the bowing noises also stand out more or less distinctly. What do you think? Which hall would Klaus-Peter Werani like to play in? And where would the cellist Hanno Simons prefer to record his next CD?
