about the programme
Following his guest performance with the London Symphony Orchestra two years ago, Sir Simon Rattle will now give his début appearance in the Music Viva series at the helm of the BRSO and the Bavarian Radio Chorus. Together with Magdalena Kožena he will conduct the première of Ondřey Adámek’s song cycle. In a second concert he will present Georg Friedrich Haas’s hour-long ensemble piece in vain, an exceptional work that combines sound and light to achieve a breath-taking intensity. The first concert will end with Messiaen’s Et exspecto resurrectionem mortuorum, a kaleidoscopic piece for wind ensemble. Both concerts will be introduced by a cappella performances from the Bavarian Radio Chorus.
This concert is part of the musica viva concert series for contemporary music. More information
