Orchestra academy – Media Center
The students of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra Academy invited to a special livestream series: The “CONCERT LAB” opened its digital doors every Monday, April 12, 19 and 26 at 7 p.m. with a live broadcast from the Irenensaal in Baierbrunn. The livestreams are available on demand (see below).
The digital CONCERT LAB made the audience discover new digital music worlds on three evenings in April. The combination of interactive elements, video art and different formats of audience participation turned the stream into a new concert experience. The young musicians themselves were actively involved in the co-creation: New formats were developed in digital workshops aiming to offer an extraordinary digital concert experience.

Watch this space
Academy members of the Bavarian RSO took part in the Watch This Space concert series in Munich’s Werksviertel district, the site of the orchestra’s future home. They played in the Tonhalle concert hall in three different combinations – strings, woodwind and brass. One of the works they played was Felix Mendelssohn’s famous Octet.
If Munich’s fabled football club, FC Bayern München, has its junior team, the Bavarian RSO has its Orchestra Academy, and has maintained it for 20 years. On 15 June 2020 current and former Academy participants and members of the Bavarian RSO appeared in a live video stream in the Sweet Spot series.
