The BRSO in times of Corona
… stands for an alliance of several Munich cultural institutions that want to show during the lockdown: We are still here!
And we are giving everything to stay connected with our audience. At the same time, we would like to use the hashtag #ohneKulturwirdsstill to draw attention to the situation of artists who are currently only able to perform to a limited extent or not at all and are therefore unable to work.
On a social wall you can find digital cultural offers from our institutions and information on the situation of artists in lockdown.
The participants so far are:
Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks
Gasteig München GmbH
Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz
Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks

• The BRSO in the Werksviertel: Watch this Space
The concertmaster of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra is starting our series “Watch this space” in the Munich Werksviertel, the place where the orchestra’s future home will be built. Since no public concerts are currently possible, Anton Barakhovsky plays in front of an empty chair. But we hope that in the coming weeks more musicians and more listeners will be added. Because music connects – especially in these times!
The four musicians of the BRSO Andrea Kim, Anne Schoenholtz, Nicola Birkhan and Katharina Jäckle played at the streaming festival #trotzdemjetzt. On the occasion of the 250th birthday of Ludwig van Beethoven they interpreted the “Scherzo” from his string quartet op. 18 No. 2.

In the media library of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra you will find numerous concert videos, insights behind the scenes and tour coverage at any time and free of charge.
Especially in times, when concert halls are closed, rehearsals and concerts are cancelled, one thing particularly applies: keep playing! Because music connects us. We visited our musicians at home to find out how they ‘Keep Playing’.
• #musicconnectsus: greetings from the home office
Musicians of the BRSO send greetings to you, dear audience! Have fun with it – and stay healthy! We can’t wait to see you again…
The BRSO is pleased to take over – together with Lisa Batiashvili – the patronage for Coupon Concerts. The innovative booking platform wants to support musicians during the Corona crisis. Under the motto “Book Now, Listen Later!” you can also help by buying vouchers for a private live concert that can take place after the crisis. To Coupon Concerts
