With his new work, premièred at the Berlin Festival in 2020, Wolfgang Rihm unites two voices that have always wanted to “sing” together: a baritone and a viola. His Stabat Mater was specially composed for the viola player Tabea Zimmermann and the baritone Christian Gerhaher. Besides this newly composed duet, the concert will also feature the Munich première of Rihm’s hour-long ensemble piece Jagden und Formen.

This concert is part of the musica viva concert series for future-oriented and contemporary music.
