the Gershwin-Experiment

Ein ARD Konzert macht Schule (c) ARD

EDUCATION-Concert for Schools

Working with tradition, the sound of home, the connection between different styles, the art of improvisation: all these topics are included in this years “Gershwin-Experiment”, which invites pupils and teachers all over Germany to get in touch with two musical works by George Gershwin and György Ligeti, supported by musicians from the orchestras, big bands and choruses of the ARD broadcasting authorities. It is a project to get the music to young people for which the different ARD broadcasting stations work together.

The most exciting questions, contributions and ideas sent in by the schools will be presented in a grand finale concert with pianist Denis Matsuev and the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, conducted by its chief conductor Mariss Jansons. The concert will be broadcasted live on TV (Bayerisches Fernsehen) and via web-livestream.
