Hector Berlioz: Symphonie fantastique

Mariss Jansons conducts two revolutionary masterpieces from two french composers: Hector Berlioz' passionate and excessive "Symphonie fantastique" and Edgard Varèses "Ionisation" - the first independent piece for percussion ensemble. After the Beethoven-Box where classical music was already combined with contemporary works we again have a confrontation of music from different epoques, played by the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and Mariss Jansons.
