BRSO on tour: Europe 2022

Vienna, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Luxembourg and Paris – From May 8 to 14, the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks (BRSO) will finally have a reunion with some of Europe’s great concert halls after a pandemic break of more than two years!

The orchestra will be accompanied by Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the young Italian pianist Beatrice Rana! On the program: the Third Symphony by Johannes Brahms, “Ein Heldenleben” by Richard Strauss and two piano concertos: the deeply romantic Piano Concerto in A minor, op. 7 by Clara Schumann, which has never before been performed by the BRSO, and the Piano Concerto in A minor, op. 54 by Robert Schumann. A special programmatic highlight is the European premiere of “Vers le silence,” the new score by the soon-to-be 70-year-old Dane Hans Abrahamsen, which, in keeping with its title, leads from turbulent beginnings to silence.

Picture galleries, rehearsal impressions and more videos from the tour can be found on the respective concert page. Have fun browsing!
