European Tour – March 13 to 21, 2016
From March 13 to 21, 2016, the BRSO was on tour. It packed two symphonic highlights: Gustav Mahler’s 5. Symphony and Dmitri Shostakovich’s 7. Symphony. First stop was Viennese Music Association’s Golden Hall. After that, the orchestra stopped in Cologne, Paris, Lucerne and finally Milan.
After its successful European tour in March of 2016, the BRSO went on tour a second time. Destination: North America. With chief conductor Mariss Jansons and the violinist Leonidas Kavakos, it performed in Washington, Chapel Hill, Montréal, Ann Arbor, Chicago, and New York.
In February, the BRSO had a photo shoot in Munich’s Werksviertel. The pictures were taken on the roof of ‘Werk 3’, where the new concert hall’s stage will be situated.
