For the first time, you can also buy all concerts of our Artist in Residence Kirill Gerstein bundled as a package – saving 20% compared to buying individual tickets. You can also purchase tickets for the first events in September and October, including concerts with Kirill Petrenko, Marie Jacquot and Gautier Capuçon or the WATCH THIS SPACE concert with Kirill Gerstein.
KLASSIK AM ODEONSPLATZ
What a way to end the season at “Klassik am Odeonsplatz”! Sir Simon Rattle conducted film music from Star Wars, Harry Potter, Robin Hood or Indiana Jones in front of the magnificent backdrop of the Feldherrnhalle in the heart of Munich! The actress and Tatort commissioner Maria Furtwängler led through the evening. The concert video is now available as video on demand.

“MUSIC IS FOR EVERYONE”
On July 8, 2022, the BRSO and the Bayerische Landesjugendorchester (BLJO), along with many other musicians from all over Bavaria gathered in Munich’s Werksviertel-Mitte for a musical flash mob to draw attention to the great desire for the New Concert Hall at this location. The cheerful and colorful action was led by Sir Simon Rattle, the designated chief conductor of the BRSO
BRSO CONTAINER
For a long time now, the BRSO has been present with concerts and many other events in the Werksviertel-Mitte, the site of Munich’s planned concert hall. Since February 2022, the orchestra has its own “little home” there: a container in the so-called Container Collective, which will be filled with life through a variety of activities and thus enable completely new encounters with the musicians of the BRSO. We look forward to seeing you there!

Shortly after it was founded by Eugen Jochum in 1949 the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (BRSO) developed into an orchestra of international repute. The British trade journal Gramophone placed it among the top ten of ‘the world’s greatest orchestras’, as did the Japanese music magazine Mostly Classic.
Whether in its Munich concerts or on its worldwide tours, the BRSO works on a regular basis with renowned conductors and soloists. It can boast of numerous CD releases and prizes, including a Grammy for ‘best orchestral performance’ and the German Record Critics’ Prize.
The core missions of the BRSO also include promoting young talent and cultivating the music of our time. From 2003 -2019 the orchestra has been headed by the Latvian conductor Mariss Jansons.
