Stefan Trauer

Cellos

Stefan Trauer studied with Antonio Janigro in Stuttgart and with Erlin Blömdal Bengtsson in Cologne. From 1979 until 1985 he was principal cellist in the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra, with which he often appeared as soloist.

He performed as the continuo cellist in Helmuth Rilling’s complete recording of the cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Since 1985 he has been a member of the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and devotes a great amount of time to chamber music. This has taken him, apart from his frequent participation in concerts transmitted by Bavarian Broadcasting, to other European countries as well as to Japan.
