For their 60th anniversary the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks gave itself the best present: with the performance of Arnold Schönberg's late-romantic "Gurrelieder" in October 2009. The exhilarating sounds of this beautiful work show that prejudice against the "difficult" music of Arnold Schönberg is not necessary at all.
